The System of a Down commemorated the 100th anniversery of Armenian Genocide by performing their first-ever free show in the Republic Square of Yerevan, Armenia, just one day before the official centennial (23th of April). The Armenian-American band, who are descended from survivors of the genocide, has been campaigning for the Turkish government to recognise the massacre of around 1.5 million Armenians as a "genocide" since 1997. Tens of thousands of fans have braved the heavy rain to attend a landmark event.
