ARMENIAN GENOCIDE
The date 24th of April commemorates the day of deportation and victims of Armenian intellectuals from Constantinople in 1915. This was the beginning of mass annihilation of Armenians - called Genocide -  which was planned and implemented by the Young Turk government of the Ottoman Empire from 1915 to 1923. Around one and a half million Armenians were killed this period. Every year hundreds of thousands of people walk to the genocide monument in Yerevan and lay flowers around the eternal flame.
The monument has a special atmosphere during the commemoration. People might feel all the souls of victims. You enter to the monument as an individual between the enormous stones, but after staying inside the circle and watching the flame, you become one with Armenians.
